Welcome to St. Joseph Child Ministry, for families with children pre-K through 8th grade.
Faith Formation sessions take place Sundays, 9-10:15 a.m., September through April. Students receive instruction in a planned curriculum, approved by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Through Faith Formation, students receive instruction in Catechism of our Catholic Faith.
Our director of Catholic Formation for children is Thadeus Brooks.
The child minister and catechists provide children Catholic doctrine for building the foundation of moral development, but also offers opportunities to pray and offer service to others. In addition to these grade specific sessions, they will participate in parish wide Encounter sessions and opportunities for faith-building family activities on Sunday mornings.
While preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist, second grade families attend parent/child sessions. These opportunities allow students and their families to deepen their own relationship with God and one another. These sessions are held in community with both the St. Joseph School families as well as the St. Joseph Faith Formation families.
At the 10:30 Liturgy, from October though April, students pre-school through first grade are called to attend Children’s Liturgy of the Word. Students are dismissed from Liturgy to hear and discuss the first, second and Gospel readings. Participants then conclude in prayer, and return to the church to rejoin the congregation.
