Oktoberfest

Festival Expanded to Two Days!

St. Joseph's 2017 Oktoberfest will be a two-day celebration, Friday, September 15, and Saturday, September 16.

Along with food and music, our Oktoberfest will include a bags tournament, hammerschlagen, kids games, bounce houses, build-your-own scarecrow, face painting and tons of family activities each day! 

All activities will take place on the lower (east) parking lot and northeast grounds along Park Drive (comparable to 120th street), between Center and Hadley streets.

Here's the schedule:

Friday, September 15

  • Festival opens at 4 p.m.
  • Fish Fry from 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Festival food (corn, hamburgers, sausages, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches)
  • Live music by Mike Pope and the Papal Schism (featuring our own JJ Anshus) - 7-10 p.m.

Saturday, September 16

  • Festival opens at 11am
  • Live music by Steve Meisner's Jammin Polkas 12:00 – 3:30 p.m.
  • Bobby Way and the Fabulous Wayouts 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Chicken dinner 5 p.m. -7 p.m.
  • Festival food (corn, hamburgers, sausages, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches)

Volunteers Needed

We need volunteers for a wide variety of roles during the two-day festival. We need more than 450 volunteers to make this event a success.

The easiest way to sign up is via Signup Genius. Log in and select a role, day and time of your choosing. Log into Signup Genius. 

Sign-up sheets will also be available in the church entryway after all Masses for the next few weeks.
