Firstfruits Women's Group – After the long Advent wait, how quick we are to dismantle anything Christmas after December 25 and focus on the new year. But Christmas season doesn’t really end until the Feast of the Epiphany. There is a custom, rooted in Ireland, of celebrating Epiphany as Women’s Christmas — a day for women to relax after the busyness of the holidays and to both celebrate with friends and spend time in reflection before diving into the responsibilities of the new year.

In this spirit, Firstfruits invites you to join us for our own Women’s Christmas, a four-session “retreat” with an invitation to rest, to reflect, and to contemplate where you are in your unfolding spiritual path. Using the theme “The Map You Make Yourself,” we’ll share Scripture readings, poetry and the writings of Jan Richardson, along with questions that help us look at the pieces of our sometimes-fragmented spiritual lives and recognize and honor them in a new way, perhaps creating our map for 2026 as we go.

  • Mondays: January 12- February 2
  • 9:30-11:00 a.m. or 6:30-8:00 p.m.
  • St. Joseph Room

To register, contact Nikki in the Parish Office at 414-771-4626.

The Gospel of Luke Bible Study, began Tuesday, September 16, with two options to participate: 9-10:30 a.m. in the St. Joseph Room of the Parish Center, or 7-8 p.m. online. This gospel has amazed people for two millennia with its breathtaking perspectives on where God is in our lives, how God acts in them, and the implications that this has for one’s prayer and love of others. The study explores how Luke sensitizes us to the divine presence in our lives and to how we live with God by living for others. Through these standpoints the power of the divine presence and its profound and transformative implications in our lives comes into view. The third gospel – noted for its amazing passages on the Holy Spirit, prayer, commitment, and stories of women and men succeeding each other and inviting comparison– takes on a new light when viewed through the lens of the larger Lukan emphasis, to which they contribute, on God’s accompanying us so that we can accompany God and others.

These sessions will run weekly through May, with a break for the Christmas holiday. For questions or more information, contact Dennis Sylva at 414-771-4626.
