The service which hosts the St. Joseph website will be doing server maintenance this weekend. The website will not be accessible Saturday, May 4, through early Sunday, May 5.
June 1 and 2 is when we celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi, which commemorates the real presence of the body and blood of Christ in the Eucharist. This real presence both assures us of God’s love for us in Jesus, the extent of which was made manifest in Jesus’ sacrifice for us on the cross, and is the sharing with us of Jesus and this love through the Eucharist.
It has been a traditional practice in the church to have a Eucharistic Procession following the Masses for this feast. Last year we had one on this feast, and we are planning on another Eucharistic Procession around the circle drive.
Youth and children are asked to take on major roles in this procession as they are the ones who will be responsible both for carrying on our traditions in their generation and for passing them on to future generations. To volunteer as a cross-bearer, canopy bearer or reader of the litany to a group in the line during the procession please contact Lisa Marynik at 414-771-4626. Very young children are invited with their parents to process in the front of the line behind the canopy.
Fr. Justin Lopina will become administrator of St. Joseph Congregation, starting mid-June, the Milwaukee Archdiocese has announced. Fr. Fabián will remain with us until June 18, and he will then be pastoral administrator at St. Anthony and St. Hyacinth parishes on Milwaukee's south side.
Fr. Lopina current serves as pastor of Sacred Heart parish in Horicon and St. Matthew in Neosho. Before that, he was associate pastor at St. Francis Cabrini and St. Mary's Immaculate Conception in West Bend. He was ordained May 17, 2014 and celebrated his first Mass at St. Francis Borgia in Cedarburg, where he became associate pastor. Earlier, he served in the Peace Corps.
He studied physics and astronomy at Beloit College, after graduating from Arrowhead High School in 2000. (Read a 2014 Catholic Herald article about his plans to be a scientist never materialized.)
Fr. Lopina's book "Views From the Other Side of the Altar" was published in 2018.

We are all pilgrim people on different legs of the journey home. At St. Joseph, we pray for all to encounter Christ, be transformed by Christ, and accept Christ's commission to spread the Gospel.
If you've been away from the church for a long time or short time, you're still welcome at God's home. If you are coming from another faith tradition or no tradition at all, we welcome you home to the Christian Church founded by Jesus and expanded by his apostles to all people.
If you've moved into the neighborhood and are looking for a vibrant parish for your faith life, we welcome you to our Christian family.
We're happy to answer questions about our parish, about the Mass, about Catholicism and the Catholic Church today, and about how we as a parish of St. Joseph in Wauwatosa can serve you. Read More.
"My daughter, daughter-in-law, and I attended 10:30 Mass at St. Joe's ...We were visiting in Tosa for the weekend. What a gift your parish community gave us! We are all part of a vibrant and faith-filled parish community in Green Bay (St. Matthew Parish in Allouez.) We are used to a community that sings and worships with energy and enthusiasm so from the beginning of Mass we took quick note of the full participation of your worship community. As Mass went on, the Spirit continued to fill the congregation. We were blown away and walked out of Mass on fire! Thank you, thank you, thank you all for praying the Mass and sharing the Eucharist as is befitting the miracle it is. May God continue to bless the St. Joseph Parish Community."
